The Social Enterprise & Local Jobs team bring innovative approaches to local employment opportunities in Banyule through the development of social enterprises and labour market programs.

As the Volunteer Development Officer you will:

  • Lead the development and implementation of a volunteer policy and framework to strengthen Council managed volunteer programs through streamlined coordination and alignment with National Standards for Volunteer Involvement
  • Assess current volunteer management processes against National Standards for Volunteer Involvement and volunteer management best practice, highlighting strengths, gaps, risks

You will have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in community development or a related area and / or extensive experience
  • Demonstrated experience in negotiating and gaining co-operation from stakeholders
  • Experience in working with volunteer groups within a community development framework
  • Experience implementing the National Standards for Volunteer Involvement, or a strong understanding of standards
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the development and delivery of projects that develop and promote participation pathways, social inclusion, and learning and development opportunities
  • Demonstrated high level organisational, planning and project management skills in developing, delivering and monitoring of community participation activities and programs
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to adapt communications to identified need and/or purpose, build relationships and gain cooperation with stakeholders with varied levels of understanding and/or experience
