Role Purpose:

The Team Leader +SHIFT provides operational leadership, support, management and guidance to the +SHIFT team. The role is responsible for delivering an evidence - based curriculum addressing women’s use of force and managing the day-to-day operations of the +SHIFT team to and broader FACS business unit in Victoria consistent with Baptcare’s strategic objective. The +SHIFT Team Leader oversees +SHIFT group facilitators and works with partner agencies and funding bodies to deliver the evidence-based group work curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Within the +Shift protocol - provide assessment, counselling and case support to clients of the service
  • Plan and facilitate group programs for women who use force.
  • Develop, enhance and maintain positive relationships with key stakeholders
  • Engage with the day-to-day operations of the team including caseload management, performance management, professional development with guidance and support as required.
  • Provide regular formal supervision, reflective practice, staff development opportunities and risk management assessments and procedures for staff to ensure safe and efficient delivery of services.
  • Support and assist, as required, operational and strategic relationships, planning and initiatives within Baptcare.

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent skills in people management including supervision, performance development and performance management.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Health Promotion, Psychology or another relevant Human Services area.
  • Sound stakeholder management and the ability to build and maintain strong, credible relationships with internal programs, local movements and networks, government associations, business leaders and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of relevant risk and needs assessment frameworks; information sharing in the context of family violence provisions and the child information sharing scheme.
  • Knowledge and experience of providing therapeutic support and group facilitation
  • Experience in implementing evidence informed programs.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Sound stakeholder management and the ability to build and maintain strong, credible relationships with internal programs, local movements and networks, government associations, business leaders and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ability to be self-directed and work autonomously.
  • Capacity to analyse complex issues, including the impact of violence and trauma, safety and risk, provide therapeutic interventions for women and assist them to achieve goals.
  • Ability to adjust to meet the changing situations of the client group while maintaining focus on delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, including, negotiation, persuasion and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to meet a changing environment and needs of staff, and/or client group while maintaining focus on delivery outcomes.

Essential Qualifications:

Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Health Promotion, Psychology or another relevant Human Services area.

Other:

The successful candidate must have the following:

  • Experience working within Child and Family or Human Service focused environment.
  • Experience working within a funded environment
  • Current Police Check(national and international if relevant)
  • Driver’s License
  • Current Working with Children Check
