About the role:

Reporting directly to the General Manager Community Services & Housing, you will be aligned to BaptistCare’s vision of every individual living well. Your role is to provide strategic leadership and management oversight in the Operations Group, support the GM and executive in achieving the objectives of the organisation by ensuring sustainable high quality service delivery and effective staff development, aligned to the purpose, promise and values of BaptistCare along with mentoring and support of counselling centre managers, financial and risk management, stakeholder engagement and the identification of growth opportunities aligned to the strategic plan.

About You:

The desired candidate will ideally have previous experience in an effective leadership and operational management position in the counselling and family services sector, will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and very strong stakeholder engagement and management capability.

Extensive experience in relationship counselling, case work, group programs and domestic violence or related community services as well as strong experience in financial and contract management is highly desirable.

To be considered, you will need:

  • Relevant qualifications (Bachelor Degree preferred) in Human Services, Community Services, Psychology, Social work, Community Services or other relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated minimum of 5 years in a leadership role within the NFP sector
  • Current and valid Working with Children Check with a valid Driver’s licence
  • Demonstrated experience in working with people in a trauma-informed way, who have experienced marginalisation

Essential competencies:

  • Committed Christian and active involvement in a Christian Church that can demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of BaptistCare’s Christian identity and promote the organisation’s values through interactions at work
  • Demonstrated capacity in leading and developing people in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Commitment to WHS compliance and oversight
