About your new role:

Working under the direction of the Lifestyle Coordinator, this position is responsible for the person-centred implementation of leisure, lifestyle and therapy activities with the residents within the Aged Care Facility. The functions of this position are to promote the physical and emotional well-being of residents, by partnering with residents to be involved in the meaningful activities of their life.

Working closely with the Occupational Therapist &/or Physiotherapist, and other stakeholders within the facility, the Therapy & Leisure Partner supports residents to maintain optimal functional abilities. The function of this position requires the delivery of quality therapeutic interventions with residents under the supervision of the relevant therapist, including preparation, application and evaluation of programs and activities.

In order to join our team, you will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID and Influenza, undertake a pre-employment medical, national police clearance and complete relevant background clearances.

Skills and Experience:

• Commitment to providing a customer centric approach. 
• Completion of Certificate III Allied Health Assistance or equivalent accredited training or progression towards.
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of person-centred principles and the ability to engage people in meaningful activity.
• Demonstrated understanding of the needs of people with dementia in relation to leisure and therapeutic activity.
• Ability to complete busy workload and respond to changing priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly in a team environment.
• Previous experience working with people with dementia.
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Valid Driver’s License (Car)
• Working knowledge of WH&S legislation and practice.
