The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.
The Clinical Input team is responsible for providing our regulatory staff with profession-specific clinical input in line with Ahpra’s risk-based approach to managing notifications, compliance and registration matters. For this role, we are seeking an advisor in the Pharmacy team.
We are currently recruiting for a pharmacist or endorsed podiatrist to assist with the assessment of Applications for Endorsement to Prescribe Scheduled Medicine for Podiatrists. All Ahpra locations will be considered for this role though Perth or Melbourne is preferred.
You will be able to align the clinical and professional context for either Pharmacy or Podiatry and its relevance to the regulatory context. In doing so, you will be able to provide clinical input to our regulatory operations staff on the assessment of applications for endorsement to prescribe scheduled medicines.
You may also provide feedback to inform the ongoing relevance and improvement of standards, codes, guidelines and other activity of the National Board for either the Pharmacy or Podiatry profession, specifically in relation to non-medical prescribing. You will have recent experience in a variety of practice settings and unrestricted registration in either Pharmacy or Podiatry.
As an individual, your ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships across a large and complex organisation will be one of the keys to your success. You embody our values of Respect, Integrity, Collaboration and Achievement enabling you to build trust with and influence key stakeholders.
