The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications, and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

This is a full time, fixed term (12months) role in our Melbourne office working a hybrid arrangement.

About the Role

The Nursing and Midwifery policy team provides profession specific leadership across governance, policy, and engagement. Working in partnership with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (the National Board) and collaboratively with key partners. The purpose of this role is to provide a high standard of administrative, secretariat, and project support services to the Nursing and Midwifery policy team.

In this role you will:

In this role, you will provide vital secretariat support to the Nursing and Midwifery policy team, helping to coordinate team meetings, working groups, and reference groups. Your responsibilities will include scheduling meetings, managing meeting packs, keeping accurate meeting records, and tracking actions to ensure smooth follow-up. You will prepare agendas, attend meetings, and distribute decisions and outcomes promptly to relevant stakeholders.

You will coordinate logistics for workshops, seminars, conferences, and meetings, including managing room bookings, catering, and event setup. Working also to ensure that decisions and actions from meetings are efficiently implemented and developing strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

About You

You are a flexible and adaptable individual, highly organized with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks. You have strong communication skills and the capability to maintain professionalism when responding to stakeholder requests. You can handle sensitive information with discretion and are comfortable supporting a busy team in a fast-paced environment. You will have the ability to travel as needed.

As the ideal candidate, you will demonstrate the following:

  • Relevant qualifications or relevant combination of skills and experience
  • Demonstrated organisational, and coordination skills, including time management skills with the ability to prioritise and complete a broad range of activities with varying deadlines.
  • High attention to detail with a focus on quality, consistency, and accuracy of outcomes.
  • Willingness to work as part of a close team, you embody our values of Respect, Collaboration, Integrity, and Achievement.
