Bayside Community Information & Support Service Inc. (BayCISS) is seeking a qualified Family Counsellor with clinical experience to work within the DFFH funded Integrated Family Service Program.

BayCISS is a small not for profit community organisation assisting members of the community with information, referrals and support services, including counselling. In particular, we work to support people within our community who are vulnerable, experiencing financial hardship or social distress.

This role is responsible for relationship, family and couple counselling aiming to support clients to develop new skills and learnings which benefit the broader community.

To succeed in this role, you will have (Key selection criteria):

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Family Therapy, Psychology or Social Work or a related area;
  • Membership of a relevant professional body;
  • Prior experience providing therapeutic counselling to vulnerable families;
  • An ability to work as part of a team as well as independently;
  • An understanding of the sector;
  • Completion of Tuning In To Kids Facilitator training and an established network is highly desirable.

The role is permanent part time commencing in February 2022 and offers flexible work conditions. The position is offered for 15 hours per week with salary paid fortnightly in accordance with the SCHADS award. Salary packaging is available.
