About the Role:

The role is focused on delivering engaging and compelling communications and efficient events logistics to reach a broad range of influential audiences, including consumers, health professionals, donors, fundraisers, volunteers, businesses, researchers and other stakeholder groups. The role assists a range of media and internal communications functions, the thought leadership portfolio with event management, sponsorship and communications activities, and supports the development and promotion of a new podcasts series.

Key Duties:

  • Assist in the planning and coordination of strategic online and face-to-face events
  • Develop and manage invitation lists and liaise with the Digital Communications team for invitations and RSVPs
  • Co-ordinate event logistics including liaising with external suppliers for virtual and face-to-face events and a new podcasts series
  • Brief in or develop supporting materials such as PowerPoint, backdrops, photography, and event programs
  • Work closely with Digital, Media and Internal Communications teams to develop and deliver integrated campaigns and activities
  • Draft and publish content for the intranet and internet
  • On occasion, support in the delivery of a busy media program by researching or drafting media releases, seeking stakeholder approvals, building media lists, gathering assets such as photography, media liaison duties and reporting
  • Follow Finance’s processes and obtain approvals for any expenditure
  • Track costs associated with events
  • Develop and track timelines and status reporting for key events
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Excel to manage event lists and RSVPs
  • Able to create engaging, brand-compliant presentations in PowerPoint
  • Able to work in SharePoint and format and upload content to the intranet and internet
  • Work within team planning and publishing tools such as Airtable, EDM software such as Campaign Monitor, WordPress etc
  • Social and team events

About You:

The successful candidate will have the following:

Essential Criteria

  1. A qualification in Event Management, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related field, or considerable relevant experience in a similar role
  2. 2 years' work experience at a coordinator level in an event, PR/communication, or marketing role with relevant examples of supporting projects, managing events, managing sponsorships, and producing content.
  3. The ability to understand the audience and create customer centric communications and events.
  4. Demonstrated strong MS Office skills – particularly in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  5. An understanding of podcast production and project management scheduling.
  6. High level of interpersonal, written and oral communications skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  7. High level of attention to detail in planning, grammar, writing and proofreading.
  8. Ability to work independently when needed and ability to take a pro-active approach and complete tasks on time.
  9. Well organised, excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  10. Substantial confidence and self-starter, with a passion to learn.

Desirable Criteria

  1. Empathy or alignment with mental health and wellbeing.
  2. Experience in the health or research sector.
