Job Description

About the Role:

The purpose of the Donor Development Coordinator is to deliver on income targets for BDI's single giving program. The role project manages the implementation and growth of the single giving program, including delivering multi-channel appeals, newsletters and other donor care collateral. The role is also responsible for developing and growing the lifetime value of supporters through implementation of donor journeys and conversion programs, and delivery of a middle donor program and personalised donor care.

Key Duties:

  • Ensure successful delivery of appeals program and other single giving campaigns to meet agreed objectives, on time and on budget across a range of channels.
  • Prepare campaign briefs, data briefs and production schedules to ensure the effective delivery of direct marketing campaigns.
  • Develop and implement Matched Giving Days and other activations to facilitate strong support for campaigns.
  • Support the Senior Manager Fundraising in planning and monitoring of the single giving program, including informing budgets, establishing targets and developing campaigns.
  • Undertake appeal personalisation strategies, such as clever targeting and segmentation, handwritten notes and specialised appeal packs.
  • Undertake welcome phone calls to all new donors.
  • Complete post-donation thank-you phone calls to appeal supporters.
  • Support the development and active delivery of a new mid-value donor program and journey
  • Build one on one relationships with mid-value donors, using a combination of personalisation and automation activities

About You:

The successful candidate will have the following:

Essential Criteria

  • 2-3 years’ experience coordinating multi-channel fundraising appeals, including strategic use of mail, social media and email across retention, growth and acquisition program
  • Demonstrated project management skills and highly organised in end-to-end successful delivery of appeals and campaigns.
  • Proven track record in achieving fundraising targets.
  • Sound experience in monitoring campaigns, providing campaign updates and evaluating performance for continual improvement.
  • Good understanding of donor engagement through effective fundraising copy, messaging and tailoring.
  • Strong skills in writing, editing and proof reading, with close attention to detail.
  • Sound proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including very adept in Excel and strong CRM/database proficiency.
  • A team player who collaborates effectively, but also takes their own initiative to ensure successful project completion and problem solving.
  • Alignment to mental health and wellbeing.

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience with RE/NXT database.
  • Experience with running a matched giving day for an appeal.
  • Experience with best practice personalised fundraising, major gifts or middle donor fundraising.
  • Experience in design principles, and/or demonstrated creative flair.
