The Bequests Manager fills a critical role within this organisation’s fundraising department and is responsible for the strategy and growth of the bequests program. This role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in Australia.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Bequests Manager is a critical role within the organisation’s fundraising department responsible for the growth and strategy of the bequests program across Australia and New Zealand.

This role is both strategic and hands-on which requires an understanding of best practice in legacy fundraising, direct marketing, and stakeholder management.

The primary responsibilities of the Bequests Manager are to design and implement integrated strategies to increase visibility of Gifts in Wills to the organisation, manage and uphold the relationship with existing bequestors, and increase the donor pipeline to ensure future revenue growth through gifts in Wills. The role will also be responsible for estate management which includes overseeing the day-to-day administration implemented by the team and external partners and managing all aspects of estate administration.

In addition, awareness raising, upholding brand integrity, project management and building relationships with stakeholders are vital to the successful fulfilment of the role.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven bequest fundraising experience with knowledge of estate management
  • Experience in management of numerous stakeholders to deliver complex projects
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning capability including the design and exaction of multiple projects
  • Understanding of principles of direct marketing and relationship fundraising at scale
  • Ability to understand and integrate data into activity
  • Experience with or knowledge of budgetary processes and cost control procedures
  • Extremely strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to work towards project deadlines
  • Management and growth of a small team
