About The Layton Foundation

The Layton Vision Foundation is an eye charity dedicated to eradicating curable and incurable blindness in Australia, Oceania and South East Asia. The Foundation was founded in 2013 by Brisbane eye doctor Professor Christopher Layton. The Layton charity team members focus on the future of eye health by developing new, minimally invasive therapies that can treat a family, village or entire nation.
Our aim is to create single, curative interventions which, it is envisaged, will have substantial application in developing countries and international aid. The Foundation’s strength is its complete bench-to-bedside development pipeline, moving discoveries from high technology discovery work of targeted therapeutics in cell culture systems right through to sponsored clinical trials.

The Role – Brand and Communications Manager

Reporting to the Director, this role will join a team passionate about making a difference. Central Brisbane office. The Brand Manager will work on increasing the exposure and visibility of the Layton Vision Foundation and its associated partners.

As Brand and Communications Manager you will be responsible for:

  • The implementation and ongoing evaluation of the Layton Vision Foundation’s public relations and social media strategies, focussing on increasing brand awareness, fostering engagement, and driving conversions that support their fundraising efforts.
  • Control and management of all ground communications
  • Developing engaging ‘newsworthy’ content
  • Promoting and advertising via media and social media content platforms.
  • Proactively identifying opportunities to engage their audience

Your Skills and Attributes

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated ability to develop & execute effective PR & Media strategies.
  • Expertise in managing social media platforms & creating campaigns across Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn & Instagram.
  • Confident in creating and writing engaging content across both online & traditional platforms.
  • Ability to analyse & use data insights to plan, evaluate & optimise communication strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Driven and dedicated
  • Demonstrated high-level administration skills including literacy in Office 365.
