The Hive, Mt Druitt leads collective work to ensure all children in Mt Druitt start school well. We have 6000 children under 5 years old and 33% of those are considered ‘developmentally vulnerable when they start school. The Hive is a network of people working in Mt Druitt, to bring together the community, services, businesses, government, and philanthropy to address locally identified priorities.
Beaumont People are excited to partner with The Hive, in the recruitment of a passionate leader and networker with strong community development and/or community mobilization experience to lead the Hive’s Community Mobilization team. This person will design and implement revised strategies for deep community engagement across the Hive’s key suburbs in Mount Druitt in collaboration with a range of stakeholders.
As the Community Mobilisation Manager (CMM) you will supervise the Hive’s small Community Mobilisation Team, creating a positive and cohesive team culture. You will lead the Hive’s thinking on community mobilisation strategies and frameworks and work in collaboration with the 2770 Collective to implement them across key suburbs in Mount Druitt.
You will support your team in the facilitation of community and stakeholder groups, with services and residents, including intentionally building the capacity of local services and residents to lead these groups.
You will maintain strong relationships with the Hive’s diverse network of partners and will work alongside the Hive Director to strengthen the Hive’s identity as a respected, convener among a broad spectrum of local stakeholders. You will provide direction and support to partner organizations in aligning their work to agreed goals, values and agendas.
You will build strong and positive relationships with local community members across the key Hive suburbs. This will include identifying opportunities and strategies for community mobilisation efforts with the support of the CM team. You will deliver community training, support and capacity building initiatives with the purpose of community action and advocacy. You will support local working groups to design, plan and deliver community events for broad community engagement and relationship building and provide leadership at community events where needed.
