knowmore was established in 2013 as a national, independent community legal service to provide free legal advice and information to people about the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. Today, knowmore works to help survivors of institutional sexual abuse navigate the National Redress Scheme. This includes free legal advice, assistance, information and referral for survivors of institutional child sexual abuse.

knowmore’s services are provided from a national network of offices currently located in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

The role

As a key member of knowmore’s leadership team, the Director, Corporate Services is actively responsible for developing, supporting and implementing knowmore’s strategic and operational planning requirements.

This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and leads knowmore’s operations team and working collaboratively with heads of Finance Human Resources and IT. You will work collaboratively with line managers across different disciplines and office locations to achieve operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the operations team with several direct reports across finance, human resources, information technology, record management, facilities and administration.
  • Ensure that the service has the infrastructure, operating systems and logistical support to provide high quality legal advice, practical assistance and specialist support services on a national basis.
  • Lead the development of knowmore’s financial reporting, planning and budgeting.
  • Develop risk and quality improvement processes with a focus on external and internal compliance, national accreditation schemes and the health and safety of staff.
  • Manage the negotiation, compliance and reporting of funding and other contracts.
  • Establish and maintain excellent working relationships and information sharing with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Promote and foster consistency and quality of service delivery across all service teams and a culture of continuous improvement.

Please note:

  • The successful candidate will be required to satisfactorily complete a National Police Records Check and a Working with Children Check.
  • The role may involve intrastate and interstate travel to deliver services to stakeholders and oversee teams. Accordingly a current driver’s licence is desirable.
