About the organisation

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape a major gifts strategy for a not-for-profit organisation located in Sydney’s South West that conducts world-class medical research. This is a senior role working directly with the CEO and philanthropy board to develop an existing engaged pool of Major Donors whilst also developing the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic major donor fundraising plan with clear targets and objectives
  • Manage existing relationships with HNWIs
  • Develop engagement and communication plans, donor strategies and proposals
  • Identify prospects and manage the cultivation stewardship processes
  • Create an engaging donor journey from approach to ask
  • Conceptualise and project manage major gift donor events
  • Maintain the database in relation to any philanthropic activity
  • Grow and develop long term and long-lasting relationships with donors, increasing their level of giving
  • Work alongside a supportive CEO and board to develop a strategic approach to the growth and development of the philanthropy portfolio
  • Manage budgets, targets and reporting for the major donor program

Skills & Attributes

  • Senior level philanthropy background with ability to create and deliver high level strategy
  • Proven Major Giving fundraising experience with experience in soliciting large gifts
  • Knowledge and experience of successful proposal development
  • Experience managing budgets across philanthropy
  • Experience managing the entire process across philanthropy from research to ask
  • Exceptional relationship management experience and proven track record of building long term rewarding partnerships
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Efficiency in administration and reporting
  • A desire to work in a standalone role in a small Fundraising team
  • Experience working with senior executives and boards
