Parkinson’s NSW is undertaking an exciting transformation that seeks to change the way people with Parkinson’s, carers and families engage with service providers. With the advent of the NDIS and the planned changes to My Aged Care, Parkinson’s NSW has developed an approach that best aligns with connecting carers and the people they care for, with affordable and accessible services.

The role

The Donor Processing Officer reports to the COO and works alongside the Fundraising Manager and Database Manager.

  • Daily donation processing database updates processing and receipting of transactions
  • Update data from third-party providers; liaise with third-party organisations to inform of donor changes
  • Ensure donor records/membership registry is up to date; maintain high-quality data within the database (including importing new/updated supporter details, deduping)
  • Ensure correct coding and recording of payments and donations to General Ledger and reconciling monthly accounts against the ledger
  • Provide reporting on specific program performance as required
  • Drive and implement process improvements to ensure the database continues to meet donor’s needs including around privacy and security
  • General office duties -opening daily mail, answering phone line, archiving donation information, attending to visitors and couriers, volunteer support, etc

To be successful in this role you will have an appreciation of fundraising and the important role donors play in the organisation (you may have fundraised or volunteered yourself!)

Other essential skills:

  • Experience using Salesforce is a must-have
  • Strong Excel, data entry and reporting skills are essential
  • High-level verbal and written communications – be able to communicate with professionalism, sensitivity, and empathy
  • Be able to multi-task without losing attention to detail, and have strong time management and organisational skills
  • Experience in the not-for-profit sector is desirable – or knowledge of Parkinson’s disease and its impact on people living with it, their families, and carers
