Executive Assistant / Project Officer - Australian Climate and Biodiversity Foundation

Beaumont People
  • Full-time role – based in Sydney location
  • Newly created position - attractive salary package
  • Close-knit start-up – looking for a candidate who will thrive in a small team

Who we are

We are the Australian Climate and Biodiversity Foundation (ACBF), a well-funded not-for-profit organisation with an actionable plan to protect and regenerate our forests. Our 2030 vision is to protect, restore and enhance Australia’s native forests and woodlands, to safeguard their biodiversity values and carbon stocks.

At the heart of our plan is a ‘backbone organisation’ of experts and advocates. It’s a concept derived from research on ‘collective impact’.
Unlike past efforts, we’re spotlighting the value of working with partners from the environmental movement, the business and investor communities, the scientific community, first nations organisations, political decision-makers, and leaders from rural and regional Australia to drive change at every level.

This is not a grass roots effort. Our organisation is governed by a Board chaired by Dr Ken Henry and the directors are experienced and well-connected leaders from the public service, the business community and philanthropy.

The role:

As Executive Assistant/Project Officer, you will work with our Executive Director (ED), Head of Funding and Impact (HFI) and Head of Programme (HP) to support the organisation’s growth and deliver key outcomes as approved by the Board.

This exciting role is for a passionate Executive Assistant/Project Officer who prefers a small and busy team. No two days will be the same:

  • Provide high-level support to the ED, HFI, HP, and the Board; responding to correspondence, arranging meetings, proof-reading and drafting documents, undertaking researching, and assessing opportunities and risk.
  • Provide end to end Board/Sub Committee and other meeting support; attendance and minute taking required.
  • Manage internal and external meetings; arranging face to face, tele/video conference meetings, arranging travel, accommodation and transfers as required.
  • Maintain and, where required, identify new internal and outsourced administrative systems, including HR, IT and financial management and budgeting.
  • Oversee the further development, maintenance and operation of all organisational policies and procedures.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for the proposed Strategic Advisory Council, and other Board and staff retreats as required.

To be successful

in this role would need to thrive in a small and close-knit team and possess the following:

  • Proven success producing high-quality work with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Have a collaborative working style while maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Intermediate-advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in content management, website admin and/or social media a bonus.
  • Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of the impact we can make on protecting, restoring and enhancing Australia’s forests.
