About the Role

This is a career defining opportunity for a Fundraising expert and equally an agent of change, someone who can drive significant transformation through exceptional leadership with real Fundraising gravitas.

The General Manager Fundraising will report directly to the CEO and Board and will transform and rebuild their own successful, national Fundraising team.

The role will shape and lead the Fundraising strategy across channels, drive targeted activity to ensure uniform delivery of Fundraising strategies and activities Australia wide and work closely and collaboratively with all members of the Executive Leadership Team to build an organisationally shared view of purpose and culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish a new strategic and operational Fundraising framework
  • Contribute to the establishment of the organisation’s strategy and direction and drive the successful execution of the strategy
  • Oversee the review and implementation of a diverse integrated Fundraising model
  • Significantly grow the diversification of the organisation’s income streams
  • Review structure of current large teams, making strategic structural change where needed
  • Inspire and empower the team to maximise their contribution to the purpose, providing them with support, focus and clarity and ensure that the team collaborates across segments
  • Oversee the development of a suite of strategic initiatives across the full Fundraising spectrum
  • Work with the General Manager of Marketing to develop an innovative model to test and trial income models and methods for new and existing audiences
  • Set, manage and monitor the annual departmental budget ensuring the department meets budget

Skills and experience

  • Experienced Fundraising leader with signification experience developing strategies and teams
  • Exceptional leadership skills including an understanding of how to drive transformational change in complex organisations
  • Extensive experience in establishing and growing multiple income streams which must include peer to peer, individual giving, philanthropy, bequests, and regular giving
  • An innovator who has developed best practice Fundraising programs
  • Demonstrated experience in creating an organisational culture/environment that drives Fundraising with a track record of success
  • Demonstrable experience in relationship building and developing partnerships internally and externally
  • Effective communication, with excellent networking and influencing skills
  • Sound financial management and budgeting experience
