ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) provide funding to only the most promising cancer research initiatives in Australia. Through these funding initiatives, ACRF have a mission to outsmart cancer by providing world-class scientists with the equipment they need to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of all types of cancer.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the CEO and managing a team of three, you will have the strategic responsibility of leading the organisation through the marketing, communications, and digital strategy to effectively raise and maintain the reputable profile of the ACRF brand, as well as increase funds raised to fund grants for cancer research.

You will be joining an organisation that describe themselves as contemporary and forward thinking, and you will form part of a team that is exceptionally enthusiastic, creative, agile in the working and innovative. This role is going to suit someone who can thinks outside the box, is confident in taking calculated risks, can work at both at a strategic and operational level as well as collaborate across the business.

ACRF are on a strong trajectory of growth, with several exciting and revolutionary projects taking place so it is imperative that as a leader of the MarComms function you will continue to contribute and drive this exciting momentum.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure that ACRF is a well-recognised brand in the broader community
  • Implement marketing strategies, marketing communications and public relations activities aligned with Foundation strategy and consistent across the organisation
  • Manage production of relevant cancer research news and information for all ACRF teams
  • Support the fundraising collateral development, campaign development and promotional activities of the fundraising teams
  • Provide ongoing positive multichannel communications about ACRF, our work and the outcomes of project funded
  • Provide strategic communications advice and support to staff at all levels across the organisation
  • Accountable for maintaining the ACRF website
  • Manage digital marketing assets
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and work program of the Communications team
  • Manage and develop relationships with external agencies, suppliers, internal and external stakeholders
  • Plan and execute all web, SEO/SEM, marketing database, email, social media and display advertising campaigns across both brand and fundraising campaigns
  • Design, build and maintain our social media presence
  • Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns and assess against objectives (ROI and KPIs)

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Proven experience in previous marketing and communications roles
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Leadership and team management experience
  • Demonstrate experience in PR, corporate communications, and media relations
  • Enjoy thinking creatively whilst using strong analytical skills
  • Thorough understanding of all digital channels, digital/social trends, marketing automation and opportunities
  • Experience managing websites, developing online content, e-marketing, social media and UX knowledge
  • High energy, passion, and donor centric focused
  • Experience collaborating on Direct Mail fundraising appeals
  • Ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with all stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills and ability to change priorities quickly when needed
  • Ability to manage, measure and track the ROI of campaigns
  • Enthusiastic about cancer research and / or working for a for purpose organisation
