Role responsibilities

Reporting to the CFO, this newly created position will drive, develop, and implement people and culture strategies, and support a positive work culture. Working collaboratively across the team, you will support organisational objectives as per City West Housing’s (CWH) Purpose, Values and Strategic Plan.

  • Be a true business partner to the team, provide guidance in line with best practice/current legislation and be comfortable providing IR/ER support including performance management and workplace relations matters and remuneration reviews
  • Establish a clear and comprehensive employee lifecycle/roadmap as well as a strong EVP
  • Develop, review and implement People & Culture policies and practices as required (from onboarding, probation and performance reviews, to exit interviews and more)
  • Support strategic objectives by taking ownership of L&D activities, suggesting and implementing improvements on current resources where possible
  • Create and deliver HR initiatives that drive overall engagement and wellbeing
  • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment and selection process (working with recruitment agencies as needed)
  • Ensure compliance with organisational legal and statutory requirements along with best practice

Essential Requirements

You will be an experienced Human Resources generalist, and excited by the opportunities in a standalone greenfield role.

  • Qualifications in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Business Management or similar
  • Experience having responsibility for a generalist HR portfolio, being comfortable in a standalone role
  • Strong proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, be able to build strategic relationships with key internal/ external partners and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, manage time and meet deadlines
  • Strong sense of confidentiality when dealing with sensitive issues/information
  • Initiative to find solutions, prioritise and work collaboratively to solve problems
