About the Role

The Philanthropy Coordinator is an exciting new role that will be responsible for developing and managing their own portfolio of existing major donors ($10,000 plus) and prospects, providing cultivation and stewardship plans and soliciting gifts.

The role will include working with the Manager to research and develop tailored proposals to prospective donors, implement a major donor giving plan, develop personal stewardship techniques to retain and upgrade donors and create and execute highly curated, intimate major donor cultivation events.

This role presents a great opportunity for a fundraiser who is looking to take their next step within their career by building on their experience within major gifts, whilst also working for a large well-known charity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organise and manage a portfolio of major donors to achieve revenue growth and targets to support the organisation’s fundraising objectives
  • Develop an innovative major donor journey and framework to energise existing major donors and attract prospects
  • Undertake extensive research of known and potential high net worth supporters
  • Develop tailored proposals to prospect, major donors,
  • Develop and monitor the donor journey, ensuring that each key touchpoints encourage engagement
  • Proactively manage regular gift solicitation conversations and meetings with major donors
  • Coordinate private online and in-person events and tours as and when required
  • Work with the internal and external stakeholders to coordinate and deliver the Christmas and Winter major giving appeals
  • Collaborate closely with the wider fundraising and marketing team to develop marketing materials and to collaborate on opportunities for further relationship development and streamline the donor experience

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated fundraising experience either supporting a team or managing donors within major gifts, mid-value, bequests, or other revenue streams
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to build and cultivate relationships over time
  • Confident and forward-thinking
  • Strategic thinking and detail orientated
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion, interest and enthusiasm to work for a charity
  • Valid NSW Drivers license is preferred (due to the nature of travel within this role)
