Reporting to the Director of Safeguarding and Ministerial Integrity, you will be part of a growing and dynamic team, who are process driven and who embody the values of compassion and collaboration. Your primary purpose is to support the day-to-day operations of the Safeguarding Office and team in this critical role.

You will efficiently support the operations of the office and provide support to the team that work within it, as well as provide executive support to the Director of Safeguarding and Ministerial Integrity.

In this role you will also have the opportunity to use your creative flair to support the strategic goals with upcoming projects!

  • Provide essential administrative assistance related to, in particular, casework, training programs and interagency work.
  • Manage safeguarding files and maintain accurate registers while ensuring confidentiality and effective communication.
  • Prepare and compile parish self-assessments and collate and report on Working With Children Check register returns.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to develop safeguarding resources and contribute articles for newsletters, fostering a proactive safeguarding culture.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clergy, parish and agency staff and community organisations, while responding promptly to enquiries and supporting the Director.

About You

  • An administrative qualification and/or background with 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of the safeguarding and/or child protection work area.
  • An understanding of the requirement for sensitivity, confidentiality, and adherence to privacy requirements.
  • An understanding of the difficult content that may be present in some aspects of the work and discussion within the office.
  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
