MATES was established in 2008, MATES are an evidenced-based organisation who provides suicide prevention through community development programs on-site, and by supporting workers in need through case management and a 24/7 helpline. MATES serves the construction industry in Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, and Western Australia, the Energy industry in Queensland and New South Wales, and nationally to the Mining industry.
The program was developed from a solid evidence base provided by the Australian Institute of Suicide Research and Prevention: The AISRAP Report.
MATES vision is to be Australia’s leading industry suicide prevention organisation focusing on raising awareness, building capacity, providing help and research.
Reporting to the Program and Operations Manager, the Training and Engagement Coordinator is responsible for planning and coordinating staff training internally and community development initiatives to support the effective and efficient implementation of organisation-wide programs and projects.
