The Role – VET Manager

Reporting to the General Manager, Director, and College Board, the VET Manager is head of the college’s VET program development and delivery.

The VET Manager is responsible for the RTO compliance, financial and human resource management, future development planning, and ongoing sustainability of all the funded and vocational programs at Byron Region Community College.

The position will be based on campus, with flexible work from home days.

As VET Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Leadership and oversight of VET programs, including ongoing improvement of programs
  • Managing and undertaking tutor recruitment, induction, and professional development to ensure the implementation of quality teaching, learning and assessment processes
  • Planning for the development, growth, and ongoing viability of VET delivery
  • Manage funding contracts while tracking VET budgets
  • Establish and retain partnerships, stakeholders, and community
  • Appointing and managing relevant external VET consultants where required
  • Contributing to good governance
  • Effective internal communication, ensuring the college is informed and engaged in relevant local, state, and national news affecting the VET sector
  • Continued professional engagement in the discipline area and with regard to ASQA requirements through ongoing study, community involvement, and research

Your Skills and Attributes

  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely
  • Relevant qualifications in adult education, including Cert IV TAE
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an education management role
  • Project management skills
  • Experience in managing RTO scope applications/ amendments
  • Financial/ budgeting management
  • Time management / organisation
  • Report writing and successful VET program writing
