Role Summary

The new position of the Volunteer Experience Manager (VEM) will engage with key stakeholders to ensure that the volunteer voice is heard and recognised. There will be a strong focus strategy development, retention, and recruitment processes as well as reward and recognition. This is a rare opportunity for an outcomes focused professional to take the lead and make informed decisions on volunteer experience strategy using their research and findings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and promote developmental volunteer engagement activities and programs across the organisation.
  • Oversee, facilitate and support change activities within the organisation, the development of documentation and communication tools.
  • Develop and implement of a volunteer engagement program including recruitment, retention and recognition programs.
  • Develop and maintain policies, processes and procedures with a focus on volunteers.
  • Oversee the recruitment, retention and recognition of volunteers across the organisation, induction processes and the implementation of volunteer rewards and recognition program.

Essential Criteria and success factors of the role

  • Suitable tertiary qualifications within the community and volunteer sector.
  • Experience in developing and implementing volunteer experience and programs.
  • Substantial experience in leading teams, engaging key external stakeholders, strategic management and quality improvements.
  • A strong background and experience in customer experience management.
  • Experience in developing links with community and consumer organisation such as volunteering Australia and the international association for volunteer effort.
  • Previous understanding in leveraging commercial partnerships.
  • Experience in the NFP sector is ideal but not necessary.
