  • Salary package equivalent up to $123k pa (inclusive of base salary $104k, super and salary packaging)

The Opportunity

The Injury Management Consultant role will be accountable for promoting and applying our Early Intervention and Injury Management framework, systems and processes that will support a safety prevention focussed culture that will result in a reduction in workplace injury and illness, WorkCover claims and improved return to work outcomes for injured staff. 

This position is currently based in Richmond with a mix of in office and working from home, however our current Richmond office will be closing by September 2021 and all Richmond based staff will relocate to premises nearby, continuing the mix of working in office and from home. Regular travel to our regional offices is also required in this role.

Key Responsibilities

This position is a key Injury Management practitioner role to further develop Berry Street’s commitment to health and safety, injury prevention and management; and risk management strategies to mitigate the risk of Occupational Violence and Aggression (OVA) and other WHS risks.

The key components of the role include;

  • Implementation of our Early Intervention and Injury Management Framework in consultation with key internal/external stakeholders that uplifts our organisational capability to support and care for ill and injured staff.
  • Manage and respond to workplace incidents when they occur.
  • Foster an early intervention culture. 
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Manager, Early Intervention and Injury Management, WHS Manager and leadership teams to support timely injury recovery and early return to work strategies to ensure they are understood and applied.

About You

  • Qualification in allied health sciences or related field and experience in injury management and workers compensation.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of best practice occupational rehabilitation.
  • Ability to lead with a mental health and wellbeing lens with empathy and compassion, providing support when required.
  • Previous experience in a sector where Occupational Violence and Aggression is a high risk would be looked upon favourably.
