About the role:

Bethany is excited to advertise for the role of Specialist Family Violence Case Worker. The core purpose of this role is to provide a specialist case management responses for the protection and safety of women and children experiencing family violence. This position is part time 60.8 hours per week, fixed term until 30 July 2022.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive safety and risk assessments in line with the MARAM to determine current and ongoing risk to women and children experiencing family violence.
  • Fully consider the needs of women and children who have experienced or witnessed family violence and provide an effective case management response.
  • Partner with Specialist Men’s Services, Family Safety Contact and the Support and Safety Hub to ensure an integrated service response for women and children

Skills and Attributes:

  • A relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree in social work, psychology and/or related behavioural sciences.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the gendered nature of family violence and the impact upon women, children and families.
  • Experience in the family violence field, demonstrated particularly in the provision of case management crisis intervention and/or therapeutic interventions for women and children.
  • Ability to demonstrate culturally sensitive practice in relation to family violence, inclusive of the needs of Indigenous, LGBTIQ and CALD communities.
  • Ability to represent the organisation within this role and to liaise effectively with a range of professionals, police, courts, family violence services and other relevant providers.
