The Services and Supports team at Beyond Blue deliver effective early intervention, treatment and recovery-focused mental health and suicide prevention supports and services, so people can receive help early and recover quickly to ensure their best possible mental health.

The Services and Support team enables the provision of the Beyond Blue Support Service, which provides:

  • effective and sustainable support to the community that meets increasing demand,
  • accessible services that continually evolve to meet the needs and expectations of the community.
  • access to safe online channels to support people to share personal stories and success and receive effective peer led support to maintain good mental health.

The Online Communities Lead is responsible for all strategic components of Beyond Blue’s online peer support service (forums), and social media channel comment streams. These operate as digital mental health services and support people’s ability to maintain good mental health, facilitate the sharing of personal stories of depression, anxiety and suicide, and improve people’s opportunities to get effective support and services at the right time. The position is accountable for the operational success of the service.

The appointee will be tertiary qualified in human services, community development, communications, psychology or mental health with at least five years previous experience in a similar role. Qualifications in marketing, information technology, health communications and education will be relevant.

Your In-depth knowledge and understanding of online community forums and their respective participants together with your high-level experience in online, electronic and social media communications will enable you to build and maintain rapport with online community members and internal stakeholders. Experience in digital mental health services and partnership with lived experience workforces in the co-design and delivery of services will support your strategic program development.
