Help deliver meaningful climate action

Our vision at Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE) is for a prosperous, zero-emissions Australia. We produce groundbreaking research, work alongside local communities and emerging clean industries, and convince political decision-makers of the need to implement climate solutions that create jobs and grow our economy.

We are an independent think tank focussed on transitioning Australia from one of the most carbon-intensive economies in the world to zero emissions in a way that maintains our standard of living and way of life. BZE has been independently assessed as one of the most effective organisations in Australia at developing policies that accelerate climate action.

If climate action and the green economy are what you’re passionate about, you’re in good company at Beyond Zero Emissions. We want to hear from you.

Why this role matters

The biggest source of revenue for Beyond Zero Emissions is fundraising. We cannot do what we do without the generous contributions made by our supporters.

As we grow in size and impact, so too does our fundraising program. This new role will work alongside the Head of Fundraising to expand BZE’s individual giving program. By achieving your fundraising targets, your work at BZE will help our research, communications and engagement teams maximise the impact of their work.

Who are we looking for?

Someone who wants to tackle the world’s biggest challenge. Someone who is passionate about climate action. Someone who is excited by the opportunity to turn Australia into a renewable energy superpower and a manufacturing powerhouse. Someone who is goal oriented and keen to hit the ground running.

What we hope you bring to our organisation

This role will require you to demonstrate the following key skills and experience:

  • 3+ years digital fundraising and/or digital marketing experience, ideally in a similar role in the not-for-profit sector (other experience will be considered)
  • Demonstrated experience managing major appeals, individual giving and regular giving programs
  • Engaging and persuasive communication skills, particularly via written communications
  • Demonstrated experience using CRM systems to make evidence-informed decisions
  • Demonstrated experience meeting and exceeding fundraising targets, at a campaign/project or program level
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Understanding of, or interest in, climate science and Australia’s transition towards a low-carbon economy (desirable)
