As a Christian organisation with a heritage of service spanning 160 years, we exist to serve our community, enrich life and share the love of Jesus. Combining our resources and expertise enables us to work even more effectively to meet changing needs as we reach and serve more people at all stages of life.
The NSW bushfire crisis has devastated our communities. Multiple lives have been lost, over 2,000 homes have been destroyed, and up to 5 million hectares of bushland has burnt since October 2019. Anglicare’s aim is to be able to support people who are experiencing trauma, and for their ongoing safety and wellbeing in those demanding and trying circumstances affected by the bushfire crisis. Communities have also been impacted by the ongoing impact of Covid-19.
We are looking for a highly experienced child, young person and family counsellor to provide a range of therapeutic services within a trauma-informed framework. The position would suit a professional, collaborative team player who can also work independently and is willing to work flexibly across the Shoalhaven LGA, South Coast and other bushfire impacted communities via face to face and online service delivery. Ability to provide culturally sensitive counselling to Aboriginal children and families is an advantage. The role would suit someone who is willing to work flexibly, including some Saturdays and after hours to reach into impacted communities.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are encouraged to apply.
Anglicare - Jesus Christ honored, lives enriched and communities strengthened.
Anglicare is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children and young people and has zero tolerance of child abuse.
Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as applications may be reviewed prior to the closing date; applications will be reviewed late January. Closing date is subject to change without notice.
