We are looking for a champion to join our NO MORE program!
NO MORE is a Northern Territory-wide Aboriginal initiative that works with the community to develop local responses to reduce the incidence of domestic and family violence (DFV). We do this by raising awareness, educating and mobilising individuals, groups and communities to change attitudes and behaviours towards women and children. NO MORE encompasses a dynamic process of change through developing community leadership, responsibility and action, and adapting to the needs of the community. It is an evidenced based program using the nationally accepted drivers of DFV as the base for making change.
As a NO MORE Community Development Worker you will be part of a team supporting the process of change. This role will suit someone with energy, initiative and drive, and a passion to make a difference. The role includes significant travel to remote communities and some after-hours work which is offset by flexible working hours.
You will need a good understanding of remote communities, community mobilisation and DFV prevention principles to be able to deliver program outcomes.
