  • Full time position based in Alice Springs with regular remote travel

CatholicCare NT is a Catholic social service agency established in the Diocese of Darwin. Our Community Development Program (CDP) provides support to address the needs of Aboriginal people who are unemployed to provide opportunities that lead to positive social and economic outcomes for families and their community. By creating employment opportunities in partnership with the local community, job seekers gain useful employability skills and meaningful qualification through attendance in activities which increase job opportunities.

About the role

As a Job Coach, you have the opportunity to provide positive coaching and assistance to job seekers in various circumstances and from all walks of life. You will connect people with jobs or help them to overcome barriers to ongoing sustainable employment.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Work with CDP jobseekers and employment consultants in assisting job seekers to gain employment
  • Provide effective and experienced job placement, on the job training and post placement support
  • Provide Employment Services in line with CatholicCare NT's Service Standards, PM&C's Employment Services Code of Practice and Service Guarantee
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with other service providers, PM&C IEO, employers and other key stakeholders in Santa Teresa, Titjikala and Finke Community

We are looking for:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including case note and report writing and the ability to communicate with providers across a range of diverse cultural groups.
  • Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people.
  • Demonstrated ability to use technology including intermediate skills in Microsoft Office applications, Word, Outlook and other electronic database systems.
  • Ability to comply with, and fulfil all CDP program funder's requirements relating to placements, employment outcomes and hosted placements.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks according to needs and time frames and ensure deadlines and negotiated job placement and job outcome targets are met.

This position is classified as a mandatory worker position for the purpose of COVID-19 vaccines and directions issued by the NT Chief Health Officer.
