Launch Housing is an independent Melbourne based community organisation passionately committed to ending homelessness. From providing high-quality housing to an innovative range of support, education, and employment services, we bring solutions to homelessness under one roof for thousands at risk or experiencing the crisis and trauma of homelessness. With over 400 staff working across 14 locations in metropolitan Melbourne, we combine direct action with advocacy, research, and innovation to drive widespread change.

What you'll do

We are currently seeking enthusiastic women to join Launch Housing Women's only team at our East St Kilda site in the role of After Hours Support Worker. Our East St Kilda site provides emergency accommodation for people who identify as female and are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. This is one of the few homeless services in Victoria that employs and accommodates women only. The facility includes 15 single client rooms and offer short term accommodation for up to 8 weeks, individual support, and advocacy services for women 18 years and over. This program focuses on supporting women in crisis to work towards a stable future.

As an After Hours Support Worker, you will be empathetic and enthusiastic about making a difference to people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. You will have the ability to juggle competing demands in a crisis setting with women who have significant issues requiring support such as AOD, mental health, trauma, disability, and homelessness.

The Shift timings are:

  • Week 1: Friday Sleepover Shift
  • Week 2: Thursday Sleepover Shift and Saturday Sleepover Shift

Who you are

You will have relevant tertiary qualification and experience working in an after-hours role in Crisis Accommodation. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be passionate to work and support some of the most vulnerable women in Victoria.

If you are passionate about working in a women's only environment and have experience working in a Crisis Accommodation setting then this is the role for you!
