Welcome to Launch Housing

We are a secular Melbourne-based community organisation that provides homelessness services and life-changing housing supports to disadvantaged Victorians. With over 400 staff working across 14 locations, we want to end homelessness and are committed to creating lasting social change to help those most in need in our community. In a country as wealthy as ours no one should be homeless.

Launch Housing is delivering a high-impact strategy that aims to reduce homelessness in Melbourne with strong government support for new solutions to build more social housing and to reverse the rate of people sleeping rough.

What you'll do

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assertive Outreach Worker to join the Rough Sleeper Initiative (RSI) team. The RSI team is aimed at assertively engaging with and supporting people sleeping rough in the inner metro areas. This program provides a response for people who are hard to reach, entrenched and who may have complex needs.

The Assertive Outreach Worker will work closely with a number of service providers to deliver an assertive and persistent street-level approach to outreach in order to identify, engage and work with clients to achieve sustainable outcomes; primarily rapid access to housing and intensive support and to assist clients to settle into their housing.

For further information on the role please refer to the position description.

Who you are

To be successful in this role you will hold a relevant qualification in human services, social work or other relevant discipline and have experience providing case management and support to clients with complex needs. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, take accountability for your work outcomes and be able to form and maintain strong relationships; all essential ingredients to working collaboratively with clients and other organisations to achieve common goals.

Working in a dynamic team that uses innovative housing practices, this exciting and challenging position offers applicants the opportunity to build and empower the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

Our benefits

In return, we offer great staff benefits including a flexible working environment, free and confidential Employee Assistance Program, salary packaging, 5 additional days of wellbeing leave (pro-rata) and training career opportunities across multiple Launch Housing teams. The salary is $74,910 per annum + super + NFP salary packaging.
