About Launch Housing

Launch Housing has an ambitious and singular mission to end homelessness. We aim to get people housed, keep them housed, and be an influential voice on ending homelessness. We are a secular, independent provider of choice for clients and the ‘go to' organisation on homelessness for government, media, philanthropy, private donors and the community.

We are currently seeking a number of passionate individuals to join our dedicated Initial, Assessment and Planning (IAP) team, committed to working with people who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness on their journey out of homelessness. There are a range of positions, location & contract length options available.

About the opportunities

Our IAP Service is Launch Housing's first point of contact with our clients. The role of staff in this team is to provide assessment, information, referrals and support to assist families and individuals to find short term and long term, secure and affordable housing.

The service is extremely high volume, responding to the needs of homeless people, many of whom are experiencing crisis. Therefore, we are looking for people who can work under pressure with the ability to make sound decisions quickly. Multiple positions available at Collingwood, Cheltenham and St Kilda sites.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be empathetic and able to relate effectively and sensitively to people from diverse backgrounds. A track record of working well in a team environment is also vital. You will be tertiary qualified in human services, social work or other relevant discipline and have a comprehensive understanding of the issues which those experiencing homelessness confront.

Benefits

In return, you will be offered a competitive salary, salary packaging and generous staff benefits such as additional leave days, development opportunities and a great culture. But most of all, you'll love knowing that your contribution actually makes a real difference.
