Launch Housing is an independent Melbourne based community organisation passionately committed to ending homelessness. From providing high-quality housing to an innovative range of support, education, and employment services, we bring solutions to homelessness under one roof for thousands at risk or experiencing the crisis and trauma of homelessness. With over 400 staff working across 14 locations in metropolitan Melbourne, we combine direct action with advocacy, research, and innovation to drive widespread change.
Reporting to the Group Manager, Crisis Accommodation, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all housing support services run out of Launch Housing's Dandenong residential facility (also known as Bob's Place). These services currently include temporary accommodation (for up to eight weeks with a possibility of extension), case management, transitional support and other services for families, couples and singles. Bob's Place includes 4 family units, 9 rooms for single persons and 2 for couples. It also manages Men's Options - an emergency accommodation response for men who have been removed from their family home for alleged family violence until their case proceeds to court.
In the first 12-months, a key focus of the role is to work with staff, their team and the Group Manager, Crisis Accommodation, to help redevelop our crisis services. The intention of the review is to look at ways to adapt the service model to reflect contemporary practice in a crisis setting, and consider options to remodel these services as part of the broader service system.
