Comms and Content Team Lead

We are looking for a Comms and Content Team Lead – this role contributes to raising the profile of BirdLife Australia as a leading national bird conservation charity with public and BirdLife supporter audiences, to promote engagement and deepen affinity with the organisation, ultimately enhancing the time, funds and voice that supporters contribute.

Working with internal and external collaborators, you will plan, oversee and execute the content strategy from start to end. Leading a team of creative and editorial resources, you will be responsible for aligning our brand narrative with our content strategies and editorial decisions. You will also play the role of a creative and an editor, as you conceptualise and produce content assets that resonate with viewers across earned, owned and paid platforms, with the aim of driving our strategic goals.

This role is vital to constructing and driving a cohesive content strategy with a focus on supporter journeys and personas, optimising content to drive traffic and create audience opportunities across channels to enhance BirdLife Australia’s reputation, reach and affinity with supporters, across the traditional and digital media landscape.

Status and Remuneration

This is a full-time position (1FTE) on a 3 Year contract. This role is based at BirdLife Australia’s National office in Carlton, Melbourne. Salary starts at $77,476 per annum plus 10% superannuation.

To apply for this role you must:

  • Have tertiary qualifications in Communications, Media or Marketing
  • Have at least three years’ experience in a team leader / managerial role
  • Have demonstrated editorial experience in news, magazines and digital environments
  • Have experience or understanding of traditional media liaison
  • Have experience with digital marketing functions including SEO, content marketing, social media, marketing, email marketing and PPC marketing
  • Have valid Australian work rights with permission to work
