Blind Citizens Australia is the national representative organisation of Australians who are blind or vision impaired. You are a true leader, seeing the strengths of each team member, in a small but diverse team. You are confident in leading a team remotely – the Policy and Advocacy Team are currently spread over 3 states in Australia.
You authentically represent people who are blind or vision impaired to promote accessibility, to bring issues of importance to the table and to create change. You take initiative in setting priority areas for the organisation’s policy and advocacy work. You connect and network with the sector and community to lead BCA’s strategic campaigns and projects that improve the quality of life of people who are blind or vision impaired.
This is a full time role, leading the Policy and Advocacy Team.
This role works closely with the General Manager of Operations, to develop and implement strategic projects and campaigns which align with current policy and advocacy priorities, in consultation with BCA members and key stakeholders.
This role provides national representation for BCA on committees and forums. As well as providing guidance to policy and advocacy staff and committee members in relation to their representation responsibilities.
