The Board of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Association (NATSIHA), in partnership with the Coalition of Community Controlled Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peak Organisations (Coalition of Peaks) is urgently seeking a Senior Project Officer (SPO) who will drive the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Housing Sector Strengthening Project under pinned by the historic National Agreement on closing the Gap entered into by all Australian Governments and the Coalition of Peaks in July 2020.

The SPO will report to the NATSIHA Board and will first prepare an ambitious and robust project plan that will drive the development and delivery of the Sector Strengthening Plan for the community controlled housing sector.

You must be a decisive and confident person who is task focused and possess strong people and communication/influencing capabilities.

You must have excellent communication skills, be energetic and persuasive and have the highest level of ethics and integrity. You will be a natural leader who thrives on challenges and work that makes a difference to people and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities around Australia.

The ideal person will have an in depth knowledge of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander housing sector, its key players, structure, strengths, challenges and weaknesses. You will have strong project management and research/policy writing experience and be able to provide examples of how you have driven change and reform through collaboration, influence and leadership.
