A new opportunity has arisen for Youth Programs Manager to join a reputable and well-established youth and family support provider located in Muswellbrook. This community-focused organisation offers support, counselling, advocacy and referrals to young people and their families and exists to ensure the recreational and social needs of the young people of Muswellbrook district are met. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead the service program to enable young people and their families to develop holistically.

Working in a close-knit team, you will manage the service delivery and programs to ensure efficient allocation of resources of the organisation. You will undertake ongoing performance management and development of staff and identify opportunities to improve staff skills and capabilities that contribute to effective service delivery.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff in their roles and responsibilities
  • Lead daily discussions, case plan reviews and quality interventions
  • Undertake risk assessment and management to ensure the safety of staff on-field / in office
  • Ensure accurate record-keeping to support effective planning and decision making
  • Work collaboratively with the Management Committee and a range of government and non-government stakeholders on service delivery and best practice standards
  • Implement changes and create clear expectations through effective communication with all staff

The successful candidate will have experience in the following areas:

  • Experience managing service delivery, ensuring compliance with funding targets ($500k p.a.), budgets and legislation
  • Demonstrated understanding of issues affecting vulnerable young people
  • Ability to operate effectively in a cross-cultural environment
  • Knowledge of child protection issues to identify levels of risk requiring intervention
  • Leadership experience managing and mentoring a specialist team
  • Staff providing guidance, coaching, and ensuring performance standards are met.
  • Oversee the development of a new facility being built and project managed by local Council.
  • Strong networks and relationship/partnering skills to ensure the best outcomes for clients

The successful applicant must hold a Driver’s License (C Class) and is required to undertake a Police Check and a Working with Children Check.
