The position is designed to promote wellbeing and effective treatment for families (adults and children) where family members have experienced mental illness and/or difficulties related to AOD misuse, including relational trauma. Direct clinical work with clients, participation in clinical research projects and the development models of practice and clinical skills to build capacity within the mental health and allied health workforce via supervision, consultation, and training are key parts of this position. There may be opportunity to teach as a live supervisor in our Academic Program – Master of Clinical Family Therapy training.
To be considered for this position, you will have a Masters in Clinical Family Therapy and be registered (or eligible to apply) with the Australian Association of Family Therapy. You will have sound knowledge and significant experience in the provisions of clinical services in the specialist field of family therapy in child and adolescent, adult mental health services or related fields; skills in working with trauma, abuse and child protection related issues from a systemic/relational perspective; and/or dual diagnosis/complex AOD from a family sensitive perspective. You will also have highly developed skills in, and a passion for, family work with a sound knowledge of family-based approaches and their application in human services organisations, particularly alcohol and other drugs or the mental health fields.
A current Victorian Driver’s License and a willingness to travel and stay overnight in country Victoria and interstate may be required
