An exciting opportunity exists for an Evaluation Officer to join the EC Australia team at Burnet which implements a national partnership program aimed at eliminating hepatitis C in Australia.

In this role, you will lead the monitoring and evaluation of key health promotion activities within EC Australia. You will oversee formal evaluations and be accountable for delivering on an evaluation plan, from data collection through to formal reporting.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Reviewing, refining, and planning for the implementation of formal evaluations of health promotion activities;
  • Sourcing, collecting, collating and analysing quantitative and qualitative date;
  • Engaging with external stakeholders to ensure health promotion activities are implemented and evaluation-related data is collected;
  • Contributing to the preparation and dissemination of evaluation reports and other project documentation;
  • Supporting the implementation of project communication and stakeholder engagement strategy

You will also be given the opportunity to grow your skills, lead analysis, write academic papers, present at conferences, and build on your understanding of health promotion and monitoring and evaluation!

Let’s talk about you

The following criteria are essential requirements:

  • Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating health promotion community-based programs
  • High level qualitative and quantitative research and data analysis skills
  • Capacity to problem solve and negotiate successful outcomes in potentially challenging circumstances.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing analytical reports and the ability to present information to diverse audiences.
  • Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as experience using NVivo and SPSS.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, organisational skills, self-motivation and enthusiasm

Previous experience in public health research and Knowledge of viral hepatitis would also be preferable!
