Burnie Brae currently have vacancies for casual and permanent, part-time Support Workers.

What can you expect in a typical day working as a Support Worker?

As a Support Worker, you will provide high quality customer-directed care to our clients, using a wellness & reablement approach. You will provide care that supports people to live their best life and maintain their independence in their own homes. Among the variety of services you will deliver, your working day may include supporting customer health & hygiene needs, performing in-home domestic assistance tasks such as general cleaning, providing medication assistance and facilitating community access, and conducting home safety checks when required.

Who are you?

  • You have experience and passion in providing personal care for elderly people and to care for those living with dementia
  • You have a genuine interest in community services and people’s social & health needs
  • You provide exceptional customer service skills & have the ability to work autonomously and as a supportive team player
  • You can demonstrate effective problem solving skills

What do you need to become a Support Worker?

  • Minimum Cert III in Individual Support or Aged Care or equivalent (advantageous)
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
  • Access to a car and current drivers’ licence.
  • Administration skills with attention to detail and accurate data and record keeping
  • You will be required to hold a National Police Check, or the ability to obtain this.

We will supply you with uniforms, a mobile phone, all required PPE and a company vehicle when you are transporting clients. So all you need to bring is yourself (the above requirements, of course) and your passion!
