PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION 

The Team Leader is responsible for the day to day management and delivery of the core services of their site in line with the NDIS contract and other relevant funding streams. The role provides direction and leadership to their team and is also instrumental in developing and maintaining relationships with the community and key stakeholders. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Monitor service delivery to meet or exceed NDIS KPI’s by day to day management of the delivery of the service to meet the requirements of the service agreement and ensuring compliance with all reporting and procedures.
  • Establish and provide leadership and management of the site team ensuring the appropriate skill mix of team members and fostering a collegiate and collaborative culture within and across the site teams.
  • Identify areas for service improvement and provide regular updates, feedback and recommendations to the Services Manager – ECEI Central Queensland.
  • Proactively lead the development of strong local networks and build and maintain effective relationships with NDIA, the community and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely input of data into the NDIS database by their team.
  • Review and monitor individual support plans for quality assurance purposes before submission to NDIS.
  • Oversight of community engagement activities and support/lead capacity building within the local community.
  • Triage NDIS case information as it is received for their region and allocate caseloads appropriately.
  • Manage the administration of rosters including approvals for leave and overtime to ensure adequate resourcing to meet client needs at all times.
  • Produce appropriate reports as requested by funders and management in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide day to day management of team members in line with contemporary HR practices including maintaining appropriate resourcing levels, effective performance planning and review processes, and prompt management of performance issues.
  • Maintain a personal case load (where appropriate).
  • If applicable, provide professional supervision to a cohort of disciplinary peers across the organisation.
  • If applicable, oversee the coordination of NDIA referrals across sub-sites within their region.

Qualifications / Professional Registrations / Other Requirements 

Desirable:

  • Experience in managing a funded program in a non-Government organisation.
  • Experience in providing professional supervision
  • Relevant Post-Graduate Training

Other requirements:

  • Working with Children – Blue Card Or Combined NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and Blue Card
  • Current C Class Queensland Drivers Licence
  • COVID 19 Vaccination Certificate of proof of medical contraindication

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline or relevant education and experience to the role
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership to transdisciplinary teams in the provision of family-centred early intervention care and prevention services.
  • Sound skills and experience in managing budgets and working within governance processes and contractual obligations.
  • Demonstrated high level skills and knowledge in contemporary family-centred early intervention and prevention services for children and families and sound knowledge of current sector initiatives and policies, trends, conceptual models and contemporary frameworks and approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to build and maintain a collaborative culture within the team and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, families and the wider community.
  • High level written and oral communication skills with demonstrated experience in effectively communicating complex and sensitive information to a wide range of audiences.
