We support young people and their children who are at risk and experiencing homelessness, to secure and maintain housing, address physical and mental health challenges, establish successful relationships and support networks, and access pathways to education and employment. This full-time position of the Nest Manager supports our mission by managing the effective operations of a 24/7, temporary supported accommodation for 19 young people aged 16-25.

You’ll be a great candidate for this role if you have:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Social Sciences or comparable qualification OR substantial demonstrated experience in similar service delivery
  • Previous project management and team leadership experience in the not-for-profit sector
  • Experience delivering specialist supported accommodation services for young people in accordance with the relevant program guidelines and service standards
  • Experience using the Queensland Homelessness Information Platform (QHIP) to receive and manage referrals and housing allocations from across the homelessness service system.
  • The ability to develop, monitor, and review client support plans, including supporting young people to access legal, physical and mental health support, education and employment, and engage with their community
  • Highly developed critical thinking, problem solving and risk management skills and the demonstrated application of these in a busy frontline service delivery setting

Given the work that we do there will be a few non-negotiables. You’ll need to be able to have, or obtain prior to commencement:

  • Working with Children Suitability Card [Blue Card].
  • National Police Check clearance.
  • Evidence of vaccination, immunity, or medical exemption for the following preventable diseases - Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella [Chicken Pox]; Pertussis [Whooping Cough]; Hepatitis B and COVID-19.
