Thinking about what’s next after your studies? What if your new job was helping families affected by family violence? Cafs is taking applications for the Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate program 2022 for a Step Up - Adolescent Violence in the Home Practitioner. The Adolescent Violence in the Home Practitioner provides Intensive case management for the young person, incorporating a comprehensive safety and wellbeing assessment, the development of a care plan and therapeutic intervention, both individual and family-based. The Adolescent Violence in the Home Graduate also conducts group work that uses concurrent adolescent and parent group sessions to strengthen the parent-adolescent relationship through skills development in areas including respectful communication and assertive parenting. The Step Up program aims to reduce the incidences of violence used by the adolescent and increase the safety of impacted family members.
This role is part of the 2022 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program.
The Program provides a dedicated pathway for new and recent graduates into the family violence, sexual assault and primary prevention sectors, supporting graduates to gain practical skills and knowledge while also receiving additional training and development support.
In addition to state-wide learning and networking opportunities, graduates are supported by a dedicated Learning and Development Facilitator and have access to learning and development opportunities with other graduates throughout the year. This includes an induction session at the commencement of the Program and monthly community of practice sessions. Graduates also have access to a funding allocation to support their ongoing learning and development over a 12-month period.
To meet the eligibility requirements for the 2022 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program, graduates must have completed all course requirements (or will do so before commencing in the Program) or have completed their qualifications within the last two years. Bachelor qualifications in Social Work, Welfare Studies, Psychology, Family Therapy or related discipline. Additional Qualifications and/or training that focuses on family work, family violence, attachment, trauma, and child development will be highly regarded.
As a dedicated and committed individual, you will provide services to our young people and their families, providing support and case management services. You will complete thorough safety and wellbeing assessments, care plans and therapeutic interventions, applying a range of strategies to achieve client outcomes that are in the best interest of the young people and families. You will also be skilled graduate who enjoys facilitating group sessions for adolescence and parents.
