Scouts Australia is seeking a new Chair National Executive Committee (Board) to drive its mission, purpose and strategy to develop the youth of today into the leaders of tomorrow.
The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically impacted the way the Scouting program is delivered throughout Australia. Scouting has risen to the challenge. Its 2021-2023 strategic plan is sharply focused on how it will set up Scouting in Australia for growth and success in this changing environment.
There are currently more than 53,000 youth members in Australia, who are supported by 17,000 adult leaders. It is a rewarding time to join Scouts Australia, as the organisation looks to nurture the resilience of its members.
The successful candidate will be an exceptional leader and experienced Board member with demonstrated knowledge of corporate governance, financial management, strategic planning, and risk management.
The role of Chair National Executive Committee at Scouts Australia involves after hours and extensive weekend work plus representation at one international forum per year (attendance may be face to face or virtual during the pandemic). It is not a prerequisite to be a current member of Scouts Australia, but a strong interest in the values of the organisation will be highly regarded. Additionally, the role will require preparedness to become a member.
