NDIS Recovery Coordinators - Mornington Peninsula

Candella

Candella is a growing community mental health organisation. We are looking for applicants with experience in:

  • Providing high quality services
  • Collaborating with a range of stakeholders to build relationships
  • Ensuring safety & operational requirements are met

As a member of our coordination services team, you will:

  • Work closely with 15 to 25 people who are supported by the NDIS and living with a psychosocial disability.
  • Build strong working relationships based on trust, respect, healthy boundaries, and psychological safety.
  • Coach individuals to make changes they find meaningful, one step at a time.
  • Support people to make sense of their NDIS plan, navigate the NDIS and the broader service system, and connect with appropriate services and supports.
  • Coordinate services and supports to build a holistic support system for each person.
  • Provide support through face to face appointments and other tasks completed in your own workspace.

The Coordination Services team provides both Support Coordination and Recovery Coaching for our customers, as we see them as essentially the same service requiring the same set of skills and understanding of both the NDIS and mental health.

The offered position is casual with flexible working hours. You have the autonomy to set your own roster to suit your personal circumstances, so long as the people you are working with are receiving reliable and high-quality support that makes effective use of their NDIS funding.

ABOUT CANDELLA

Candella Ltd is a not-for-profit organisation providing recovery-oriented mental health services within the National Disability Insurance Scheme. Candella launched in October 2018 and has since grown to almost 200 employees providing services to more than 900 people in Melbourne. This year we are expanding into Sydney and we intend to make our services widely available throughout Australia in the coming years.

Our aim is for our services to make a positive contribution to the lives of as many people as possible. We believe that people can thrive when given effective support and opportunities.

We believe that all people have the right to set their own direction in life, and we give them the space to make progress on their own terms, in their own way, at their own pace. We are not here to fix people, or change them, or tell them what to do. We are here to help them on their way, whichever way that is.

Candella has no physical offices. Our employees work from home and in local community settings. We stay connected through our online communication system and occasional in-person meetings.

We are seeking to appoint staff who will:

  • Demonstrate a positive, non-judgmental, non-discriminatory attitude towards people who experience mental health issues and other forms of disadvantage
  • See and treat people as individuals and do not make assumptions about them or prejudge them on the basis of their diagnosis or their belonging to a marginalised group or community
  • Have a genuine interest in the fundamental purpose of Candella and the delivery of safe, high quality, person-centred supports
