We Offer
The Caraniche Forensic Youth Service is a Victorian, state-wide provider of Youth Offending Programs to the Youth Justice sector. Caraniche Forensic Youth Service operate under a “one team” philosophy where there is opportunity for cross learning and support between teams.
This is a specialised role and would ideally suit an experienced clinician who has worked extensively with a forensic youth cohort with AOD issues in both individual and group-based programs. We have a suite of psychosocial and harm reduction-based programs targeting alcohol and drug use as well as other treatment needs including emotional regulation and healthy relationships. The programs are research based and have been developed by leaders in the forensic psychology field.
This role will be based in Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct and is a fixed term contract to June 2024, with the opportunity to extend based on government funding. This role would join a multidisciplinary team of Psychologists, Social Workers and Clinicians in delivering service to a cohort of complex young people who have engaged in offending behaviour.
We have worked hard to create a positive, collaborative team culture comprising skilled clinicians who are committed to providing evidence-based treatment to address offending and promote long term behaviour change. We are looking for a clinician who is a team player, is client focussed, has a warm, empathic and engaging style whilst able to challenge unhelpful behaviours and is wanting to provide early intervention and support for young people who have entered the justice system. Due to our role within a forensic system timely and accurate case noting and report writing skills are critical to the role.
Applicants will have experience with, and/or a strong desire to work with, a youth cohort who are culturally and linguistically diverse and present with varied needs including complex trauma, behavioural issues, mental health, substance use, low cognitive functioning. This is a fast paced and dynamic role so organisational skills including an ability to prioritise tasks is essential.

$60-80K pro rata depending on experience.
