About the Opportunity:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a recent or upcoming accounting graduate to step into a role where you will be guided and developed by a committed team of professionals, to receive well-rounded and diverse exposure to a range of accounting and payroll processes. While this role is a Graduate position, our ideal candidate will be ambitious and self-motivated, with a keen interest in progressing within the company in time.

Working directly with CFO you will play a key role in assisting members of the finance team and other departments with all their transactional finance needs and enquiries. You will work with a focus on engagement and will be required to build key stakeholder relationships and provide high quality customer service to meet the needs of a diverse range of people. This position will also give you an exposure of end-to-end payroll processing.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Performing data entry of supplier invoices into the accounting system, ensuring all supplier invoices are matched to an appropriately authorised purchase order.
  • Ensuring appropriate GST treatment for all purchasing transactions.
  • Reconciliation of creditor statements.
  • Coordinate new supplier verifications process and creation of new suppliers in the system.
  • Regular review of the open purchase order list, and subsequent liaising with staff to ensure the list is well maintained, and purchase orders are closed in a timely manner.
  • Development and continued improvement of process documentation.
  • Assist finance team with end of month accrual, prepayments, and other end of month journals.
  • Learn and process fortnightly payroll processing including salary sacrifice and superannuation payments
  • Assist CFO and Accountant in preparation of Statutory Reporting, external audits and the annual budgeting process
  • Ad hoc duties as directed by CFO

Essential Selection Criteria

This position will suit someone with experience in data entry, a keen interest in financial management and excellent attention to detail. Additionally, the key to your success will be your demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Be a highly detailed and eager with up to 1 years’ experience relevant to the role.
  • Recent (or upcoming) Accounting graduate with a course weighted average of 65% or higher
  • High levels of customer service across a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Experience with use of major software packages including XERO accounting software.
  • Attention to detail, accurate data entry skills, and an ability to maintain clear and accurate documentation.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, both with and without direct supervision.
  • Can do attitude, result- oriented, team player
  • Well-tuned organisational skills and an ability to use sound judgement when prioritising tasks.
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting
  • Ability to work outside of set hours on occasion, as required
  • Police clearance issued within the past 3 months
