The Program Coordinator at the Caroline Chisholm Society - Goulburn Valley reports to the Pregnancy and Early Parenting Manager, and works closely with practitioners as the lead in coordinating volunteers, the material aid program, and community outreach for pregnant women and young families.

The role is part time for 20 hours per week.

Providing oversight for these programs also includes admin support to practitioners in their client and outreach work. This involves scheduling appointments ahead of time; providing admin support for meetings and outreach opportunities; as well as recruit new volunteers in support of the material aid program.

On behalf of the Society, the Program Coordinator undertakes a key leadership role in establishing and managing stakeholder and community engagement opportunities with not for profit organisations, schools, volunteers, community services and government agencies in Shepparton.

The successful applicant will have experience in a community service, volunteer management or administrative role. Applicants need to have a confident, compassionate approach when dealing with a wide variety of people, including the ability to be respectful and helpful with clients and volunteers. The ideal applicant is someone who thrives on developing relationships and multi-tasking, has experience in a volunteer environment and wants to make a difference in the lives of young families.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE RESPONDED TO EACH OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Understand and share the values and objectives of the Caroline Chisholm Society.
  • A relevant qualification or experience in a community service, volunteer management or administration role.
  • Experience in recruiting and working with Volunteers.
  • Have the skills to work independently and know when to escalate items for resolution.
  • Have a high attention to detail and can manage multiple priorities.
  • Can manage changing priorities, meet deadlines and adapt to a changing business environment.
  • Have a confident, compassionate approach when dealing with a wide variety of people including the ability to be respectful and helpful with volunteers and clients. A highly developed understanding of, and ability to maintain, confidentiality.
  • Strengths in MSOffice suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective report writing skills.
  • Experience in the processing of pre-loved goods in a volunteer environment would be highly valued.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated that they:

  1. Understand and share the values and objectives of the Caroline Chisholm Society.
  2. Have a minimum of three years’ experience in an administrative and/or community leadership role (or applicable experience) with a Diploma in Community Services or above preferred.
  3. Have the skills to work independently and know when to escalate items for resolution.
  4. Ability to supervise staff, employed and voluntary.
  5. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and communication skills.
  6. Have a high attention to detail and can manage multiple priorities.
  7. Demonstrate strong team building skills to promote a strong team approach, contributing to a culture of cooperation, encouragement, affirmation and accountability.
  8. Have a confident, compassionate approach when dealing with a wide variety of people including the ability to be respectful and helpful with clients. A highly developed understanding of, and ability to maintain, confidentiality.
  9. Volunteering: Experience in recruitment and retention of volunteers.
  10. Welfare: Experience in working with vulnerable families and children,
  11. Administration: Proven capacity to organise, plan and prioritise, ensuring client and program outcomes are met in a timely manner.
  12. Are tech-savvy with a structured approach to problem solving.
  13. Have experience with Microsoft Office 365 is highly valued and strengths in MSOffice suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
